Sisters,
I will never forget the day I accepted Jesus into my heart and asked Him to be the Lord over my life. I remember the overwhelming freedom and joy that filled me and how strong my love was for Him. I had a love for a Savior that encompassed my whole being, even at the tender age of eight.
As I grew, both in age and in my faith, His love stayed close to me. Yet, there were times where I caught myself not as consumed with Him as I once was. I was the one drifting from the God who gave me His all, time and time again. Jesus tells us in Matthew 22:37 of the greatest commandment, “Love the Lord your God with all of your heart and with all of your soul and with all of your mind.” But how many times do we catch ourselves not giving God our all?
Our hearts are swayed so easily by our many emotions. Comparison leads us to feelings of worthlessness, shame, loneliness, arrogance, anger, numbness, and the list can go on…
Our minds can be so easily distracted with busy schedules, children, spouse, our “to-do” lists, health, and much more. Our faith can get put on the back burner as we find ourselves mindlessly scrolling social media and Netflix binging.
And our soul, a combination of all these—our heart, our mind, our beliefs, our character—is who we are! Is all we are, every part of us, reflecting Him? Is every part of you longing and striving to be more like Jesus? Is God above all in your life?
I don’t know about you, but I sometimes find myself getting off course in one or more of these areas. But I am so thankful that I serve a gracious God! He is right there with me, as I reevaluate my commitment to the greatest commandment, answering the question—am I “ALL IN?”
In His Love,
Kim Kjos
